Privacy Policy

Last updated

This policy explains what Curio collects when you read this site, why, and what you can do about it. It describes what the site actually does today, not a generic list of possibilities.

Who is responsible

Curio, RS. Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected]. Responsible for content: Serkan Denizbey.

Reading an article

Reading does not require an account and we do not ask you for anything. Our server records the ordinary information every web server records to deliver a page and stay secure — the address requested, the time, and technical details sent by your browser. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build a profile of you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and how people arrive. It is loaded only when a measurement ID is configured, and it runs in Google Consent Mode: for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage start denied, so no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is sent until consent is given. Outside those regions the default is granted. You can block analytics entirely with any content blocker; the site works without it.

Cookies

The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Your theme choice (light or dark) is kept in your browser's local storage, never sent to us. Analytics may set cookies once consent applies, as described above. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.

Comments

If you leave a comment we store the name you type, your email address and the comment itself. Your email address is never published; it exists so we can reach you about your comment. We do not store your raw IP address — only an irreversible hash of it, used to detect abuse. Comments are reviewed before they appear. Ask us to delete a comment at any time and we will.

Advertising

This site does not currently carry advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any ad network is loaded.

Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare (which serves the site and filters abusive traffic), and Google Analytics as described above.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to receive a copy. Write to [email protected] and we will respond. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

When this policy changes, the revised version appears here and the modification date at the top of the page is updated. Substantive changes will be noted in the text rather than made silently.

Never miss a story

Get a quiet nudge the moment we publish something new — no spam, just the stories worth your time. Turn it off any time.
